Las Americas International Airport

IMANA Relief members are traveling to Haiti via the Dominican Republic. Due to limited access directly into Haiti, doctors and other medical personnel are flying to Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) near Santo Domingo, DR. From there, it is a seven hour trek to Haiti by road. Members from IMANA Team 2 have just arrived at the airport (below). They report that approximately half of the people in SDQ are relief workers--highlighting the international effort to help victims of an earthquake, that has left over 1.5 million homeless.
